Is your Google News feed getting spammed?

I've been using the Google now launcher forever and ever since I updated to 7.1.1 and maybe a little sooner, I've been getting tons of news articles from cites that I've never heard of before. They're basically cites that keep repeating the same tired headlines or they are fake news cites. I hit the 3 dot menu to never get news from each specific cite, but I'm blocking no less than 10 every day. I only like to get my news from established and trustworthy sources, but lately I've been getting spammed with dozens of shady news sources. I've blocked at least 100 of them from hitting my feed.

Am I the only one with this problem?

I am doing fine. I am on the default Pixel launcher.

This was happening before, it is getting better though. What doesn't help is that my 3 most visited sites are android related (I use the AC app therefore don't visit the site that often)

Do you think the fact that I did a factory reset on it before I put 7.1.1 on would have caused this?
