Why is Google News In-Article Formatting Different on Phone & Tablet?

I'm a Google News user on both phone and tablet, and there's been a change to the In-Article formatting from news sources such as Android Central, Android Authority, Verge etc. It used to be a format where photos and text was extracted from the webpage and displayed nicely, but now on the phone its basically a mobile version of the webpage, which I hate.

However, on the tablet, it still shows the normal photo/text extraction format, and wondering how I can get that on the phone?

You know I've noticed the same thing on the phone. I prefer the extracted format as well, but I only see that format on a few sources (like CNN). The Verge USED to be in the extracted format, but along with some others are like a mobile webpage now.

I agree with you 100%, and I haven't found a way to view it in the preferred extracted format all the time.
