Updated this morning.

My issue is that my computer no longer recognizes the phone. Instead of just plugging in, and then my phone going to the steps needed to access the phone and SD card, these things happen:

1. Arcsoft Media Kodak (or some other crap I only need for my videocamera) opens.
2. The phone has a sync icon and says "Media Sync Mode" with an option to cancel it.

Whether I cancel it or not, I still can't get to a normal USB connected thing.

Can soemone help?

EDIT: ALSO I noticed it said it was updating drivers, the first time it plugged in, and strangely it's showing up as K:CDDRIVE, but labeled as VERIZON_WIRELESS.

Yeah I just reinstalled the standard Samsung drivers and now it sees it.

HOWEVER it also comes up with a Verizon Boostrap thing everytime I plug it in, but I can ignore that.

Also, on the phone the USB is connected do you want to mount, takes a lot longer.

there is a thread that addresses this. "phone shows up as cd rom". you will fond some answers there. i will give you some relief, in debugging mode plug your phone into pc. restart your phone.

go to that thread and post your problem and exactly what happened to lead to this, ie. did an update, From where? did you flash a rom, what kernel. details are very important. oh, what version of windows.

Just updated my phone and everything looked good... Until I made a phone call. Once I was done with my call I tried to hang up and the screen was blank. All dark and unresponsive for a few seconds. ANy ideas?

Gunner you know something, i have seen a couple peole having trouble connecting USB with the OTA update aswell

i was just looking through posts for that. thats why i wanted him to be specific as to what happened and when. i think tomorrow i will call for a warrenty replacement and see if i can replicate the problem.
