Issue Connecting via USB to Windows

Hello. Since upgrading to Marshmallow I have not been able to successfully connect my phone to a windows computer and have it recognized as a storage device. Instead it shows up purely as a media device and I can no longer access any of the folders as I used to. I have tried different computers and cables, but to no avail. Also the old MTP settings seem to be gone as well, so I am at a loss as to how to tackle this. I have also tried uninstalling the Nexus 6 driver in windows as well so it would reinstall, made no difference.

When plugging it in via USB my options are, sync with media player, open with files explorer (what I used to select to move files) and a couple other options that are not related to what I need. I have tried the syncing with media player, but that does not work for what I am trying to do either.

I apologize is there is something silly I missed, but I have been unable to find any helpful posts or pages thus far for this.

Edit: I figured it out, had no clue they moved the USB options to a notification when it is plugged in. Sorry for the thread, please close or delete.

No reason to delete it. If others have the same problem, you posted the answer for them.

Yes thank you. I had the problem too. Maybe my phone isn't screwed up from muddy flashing

I still have this problem. When I connect to Windows 10 via USB I get the usual beep signal - but no notification. Neither the tablet nor the card shows up in Windows Explorer. If anyone can provide a mug's guide on how to fix this I would be very grateful. It all worked perfectly until a couple of weeks ago. Thanks

Amazing! Saw a post advising to "wipe the cache". This took only a few seconds. Now USB connection back to normal and "drag and drop" is working perfectly.
