I was trying to transfer my custom files to the Ringtones, Notifications and Alerts folders to make them visible for selection for each section and I was successful. I had assigned custom mp3's to my messages, alarms and Ringtones for different people but I didn't like how the files would show up in Google Play Music. I don't need to hear these files while listening to music.
I placed a .nomedia file into each folder and Google Play Music no longer displayed the custom files in each folder but unfortunately, either did my Ringtones, alerts and notifications now.
I deleted the .nomedia file out of each folder and they still won't show up. Google Play Music doesn't display it still which is fine but nothing does. Did couple resets, held down the power button for a 'hard' reset (if that's the proper terminology), moved the files out and back in, created a new Notifications folder and renamed the old.. Nothing
I can't seem to get the OS to recognize these files again. Any suggestions?
