Issue installing custom rom***please help***

This is my first time going about this. I unlocked, rooted, and made a backup without any issues. I went through CWM and attempted to flash CyanogenMod 10. My phone rebooted, and the CM opposite spinning circle screens (im assuming the boot screen?) came up. Those have now been going for about 30 minutes. Is this normal, or is something wrong? What do I need to do? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

What type of device. I had the same problem with my Nexus 10 and the Cyanogen Mod 10. I ended up having to go back to a factory image. Using this tutorial

Galaxy Nexus. I ended up doing the same. I flashed back all stock images. I'll give it one more shot.

Don't flash stock in a panic...you're losing your files for literally no reason.

Thanks for the help! It seemed to be something with the GAPPS. I was able to get CyanogenMod 10.1 up ok, but as soon as I flashed the GAPPS, my phone would just crash. I installed 10.0 (stable), then the GAPPS, and had no issues.
