Google is having a big technical issue with providing the promo code for the free Google Home Mini to some customers. I purchased two Google Pixel 2 phones on the same order during the free Google Home Mini promotional period, so I’m entitled to two free Google Home Minis.
They emailed me one of the promo codes for one of the promised Google Home Mini, but they have been unable to deliver the second promo code for the second Mini. After numerous of phone calls, chats sessions and emails, all with useless “customer service” representatives, Google confirms that they owe me the second promo code, but their system is unable to generate it for me, as well as other customers that have the same problem. They are unable to give me a timeframe in which this problem will be resolved either.
I have spent many hours already with Google trying to resolve this issue. Their customer service is very poor. They do not follow-up as they promise, they don’t provide any solutions and no one at Google seems to care. They completely lie to you as well. A couple of times they tell me they will follow-up in 24 to 48 hours, but they don’t.
At one point, they gave me a promo code to use for the second Mini, but I got an error message that it was already been redeemed. Then they gave me another promo code to try, I got another error message that it was expired. Next, they email me to ask me for the first original promo code I had received. Surely someone at google can easily get that information without further inconveniencing me. Furthermore, I do not even have the promo code email anymore as google deletes emails in trash after 30 days.
The experience has shown me how inept and uncaring Google really is as a product provider.
