I've had a charge and a thunderbolt and in most places around NYC I would have 4 bars of 4G. With the Bionic I'm averaging 2.5 and I've never reached 4 bars. Anyone else having this issue?

Upper West side I get two-three indoors, 4 outside uptown, lower manhattan can be spotty at times.

Sadly, I haven't been outside since I got the Bionic (Thursday). Hopefully I'll make it out of my cave tonight or tomorrow and see what's up.

Just so you know, comparing bars between phones from different manufacturers (or even different phone designs from the same manufacturer sometimes) doesn't really tell you anything about the actual signal quality the phone is seeing. Unless things have changed in the past year or so, they all use different definitions of what each bar actually means. It shouldn't be of any concern unless you're having quality issues or the data bandwidth is appreciably lower compared to the other phones.

How the hell are you guys even seeing the bars for 4g? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the bars displayed on the notification bar are for call quality, not 4g signal. I remember my old Evo 4g had bars under 4g and those same call quality bars on the notification bar.
