Issue with Droid 2 WiFi

I've searched for the answer and am unable to find it so here I ask the question ... I am having issues with my Droid 2 (rooted but still on stock ROM) concerning wifi. I can connect to my DDWRT router , but no data is coming through the connection. According to the network signal info app. I am drawing an IP but I cannot get any app that uses data (like facebook or pandora) to work consistently while connected to the router. There are other wireless devices connected to the router with no issue (palm pre and couple of different laptops) .... I've experienced the more common issue of the wifi dropping on and off in the past, but that went away when I switched over to my current router. The current problem didn't start until a few months after starting to use the DDWRT router ... any suggestions?
