Have a Nexus 6P and i am having issues connect to certain app (SMS Backup to Google drive and Facebook). this does not happen all the time and happens when using ATT LTE or thru WiFi. But other apps work and can get to internet while not being able to use SMS Backup to Google drive and Facebook. any thoughts?

Can you be more specific about the app? There are many apps in the Play store titled "SMS Backup..."

it is the following. Whenever it runs it back and try top load to google drive i get an error message of not able to connect to internet. Yet youtube and google crome all work then.

SMS Backup & Restore

Carbonite Tools

i have email them a few times and go no response. Thought I would post and see if anybody else had figured it out yet.

Apparently customer service is not very well advanced; there are complaints about that as well.

I'm curious about something - please go to Settings -> Apps -> (your app) -> Permissions. Is Internet listed? Is it enabled?

Have faced the same issue with Facebook . it says can't connect right now even though on internet . restarting the app fixes it . I thought a problem with the app itself.

Internet is not list. But i can run the application and do a manual back up and it works fine.

good point. they are on Android 5.1 build number LPB23.13-61

My recollection is that permissions management has changed significantly in Marshmallow, requiring developers to adjust code accordingly. The last revision to this app was last August and does not mention Marshmallow at all.

k. Thanks for you help. Hopefully he will get on it soon or I look for another app to back up my messages to google drive.
