Issues trying to buy a Nexus 7

I tried to buy a Nexus 7 on the Google Play store the other day. I had to input new debit card details as my old one had expired.

For some reason my debit card was declined and it asked me to update my details and the order would go through. When i went into Edit My Details, all my debit card info was correct, although it doesn't let you view the entire card number, only the last few digits. I don't understand what I'm to do.

I've emailed them and not had a reply. They have a call back service but it looks like it's only if you live in the US not the UK.

I'm stumped. Any suggestions would be welcome

How can you know your debit card information was correct if they only let you see the last few digits?

I'd try adding a new card in Google Wallet then deleting the old one, then repeating the order.
