Issues with Badges and Google Play Store?

Don't know if any of you folks have noticed, but a recent Google app update (I got it late yesterday) totally hosed-up things like un-read badges and the ability for the Google Play app to install new apps. The temporary fix was to disable the Google app. I'll enable when a new version is released.

No need to weigh-in if you are not affected.
Just wanted to post in the event that others see the same thing.

Did you try going to the Google App, & Clearing its Cache? Data? Then reopening? Are you taking about (Googles) "Play Store" app, or a different app?
I've had trouble with the Play Store in the past & Clearing the Cache &/or Data on the "Google Play Store" App &/or "Google Play Services" App, completely solved my issues. You may already know all this but I'm just trying to help by telling you my experience. Good Luck Bud

Did all that. I was referring to the Google Play Store.
All fixed now.

I dumped out of the Beta program. I had forgotten I was in it. It took me a freakin' hour this AM to research and fix this problem - all along it was b/c I was a beta tester!

Well, maybe this post will help another Beta tester who forgot they were in the program!

it's nice to here someone not freaking out about beta. to many complaints about beta program not working flawlessly, it's a beta for a reason. there are people already complaining about Android P features, not even close to release.
