Let me start off by saying I'm comfortable with both android and ios systems. I've had both iPhone and Android and like them both equally in their own ways.

With that being said. The worst phone I ever owned was an LG xenon. I went through 6 of those phones with the same issue. Every time I flipped up the keyboard....stuff would freeze to where I had to take out the battery 100x a day.

After 2 Samsung galaxies and and an iPhone...I decided to give the LG another shot.

It's been great since I got it in September...up til last week. While I am notoriously BAD with phones cuz I'm clumsy...I've had this one in a nice otter box. Shock proof...all that noise...which in theory should protect it from small minor Falls. But apparently I'm a huge screw up....cuz I maybe dropped my phone once or twice. So what's the point of having a case then if it really doesn't protect against anything...

Issues:
Last week, the power/volume buttons stopped working. We reset it and all that jazz. Nope. Dead. Take it to at&t and the guy won't troubleshoot, nor did I want him to because...how the hell am I supposed to turn the phone back on if he shuts it off. So he said just call and get a replacement. Of course a refurbished one cuz insurance doesn't give you a BRAND new phone. SO I'm waiting on that. Normally I'd have hubby fix it but it's still under warranty. Just pissed I'm going to have to re-download everything and rearrange it all again. Fun wow.

ALSO...within the past few days, it seems the charging is weird. When I plug it in. It takes a good 30 seconds for it to actually start charging and it seems slower than normal. And the red charging LED stopped working?

Has anyone else had this problem. And sitting there bashing me or making rude comments isn't necessary.

C'mon LG...don't be another colossal failure.

Also, phone seems a bit laggy and glitchy....doesn't always wake up when you tap screen....keyboard freezes sometimes....etc etc.

You dropped it "a few times" and are now having issues, and you're blaming LG for a collosal failure. Um...ok.

First off....like I said. Its in an otter box and hasn't been dropped recently. There's no damage to my phone. I've dropped other phones not even in cases and never had issues with them...

So your attitude isn't necessary. :)

If you've never EVER Dropped a phone, you're most likely lying. It happens to everyone.

Well, for what it's worth, I am a 3 time LG phone customer, and I even dropped my LG Spectrum 2 in my pond, and there were no issues with it, even after that. I just have a silicone cover on the back, not even a screen protector. Odd that you would have such bad luck specifically with LG.

I have had extremely good luck with them. Perhaps you should go back to Samsung, or get an iphone.

So, LG's not working for you, Samsung didn't work for you, and apparently neither did iphone. They blocked my first response to you, not sure why, because all I said was that I have never had an issue with an LG phone, and I have had 3 of them. If you don't like them, then just try not to insult a message board comprised of mostly happy/loyal LG phone owners. That was accomplished by calling LG a 'colossial failure'.

Did it ever occur to you that at some point, when you dropped the phone-however many times, that you fractured the connections, but not entirely, and recently, you bumped it, or whatever, and those connections finally broke? That'd be my guess. By your own admission you're hard on phones.

For the record, I have never dropped any phone I have owned, but I did knock my LG Spectrum 2 into my pond, and after it dried out, everything worked, no damage whatsoever.

First off. I never said the Samsung or iPhone didn't work for me...I loved those phones and thought I'd give LG another try. And no. I didn't "bump it" I have an expensive case on it that is to protect it and absorb shock. That, along with the battery issue, LED issue and lagging....is pretty ridiculous. I'm just trying to find out if anyone else is having the issue. I'm not trying to BASH your beloved phones. I myself didn't have a problem until now and LIKE the phone. Thank you.

And apparently I'm not the only one with the issue either. Other LG users said the same thing to me. Great for the first few months, then the problems start.

I'd be surprised if anyone else replies to you, because your tone is quite snarky, and condescending.

Have a nice day. And best of luck with whatever phone you end up with.

This. You come in right off the bat with a healthy dose of attitude, stated you wouldn't let the one person who could probably help you the most (the ATT rep) actually try and help you and then immediately get your audience defensive by telling them not to give you attitude. Call me crazy, but getting in people's faces before you've even even given them a chance to respond isn't likely to net you much sympathy and/or help. Humans are weird like that.

First off...the att rep completed agreed if the power button didn't work...to not mess with it because then I'd be screwed without a phone for a week. So you're right. I didn't want him to fix it.

And not sure if you're agreeing with that quote or assuming I said it...I'm confused.

@ All

Lets take a step back and relax here.. I know I sound silly saying that but lets try and offer up some reasonable suggestions instead of turning this thread south. We all know that being rude & insulting isn't going to get this resolved and if you give that attitude towards CS at any place your going to run into a brick wall real fast. As much as I've wanted and have freaked out in the past on CS reps in the end it rarely pays off..

Of course a refurbished one cuz insurance doesn't give you a BRAND new phone.
This is common, it sucks but it is what it is.. Only instance where a corporate store or authorized seller store is obligated to give you a new phone is within the 15 day return warranty/replacement window. Otherwise its completely at the store/managers discretion to provide a new device. Some do, some don't.

ALSO...within the past few days, it seems the charging is weird. When I plug it in. It takes a good 30 seconds for it to actually start charging and it seems slower than normal. And the red charging LED stopped working?
This sounds like a bad refurb, plain and simple. Unfortunately your going to need to have it warrantied/replaced again. I've been down this route before with Sprint and Asurion having to go through 4 or 5 replacements to get a properly working device. Literally getting refurbs that were broken straight out of the box where Sprint couldn't even activate them because they boot looped or whatever.

And sitting there bashing me or making rude comments isn't necessary.
This comment here to start your thread is the reason your getting attitude in return. Nobody even had a chance to make a comment and you already put on the boxing gloves :P

Best solution as painful as it is, go through the steps and have it replaced again. I have a Sprint variant LG G3 myself and thankfully its been great from the start. Its a wonderful phone and I'm sure once you get a properly working model you will be very happy.

I updated that whole bashing part after people started it...so I was just saying that it wasn't necessary....making me the BAD guy. I would never give attitude to a cs rep. Especially since the guy that handles my issues is a friend. Also, this is my original phone. So it's not a bad refurb. All I'm saying is....it hasn't been dropped...and when it was...it wasn't hard AND ITS in an otter box...and when the buttons stopped working it had been sitting on my table charging so it wasn't bumped or dropped anywhere near the time it stopped working.

"It hasn't been dropped, and when it was, it wasn't hard"

Did you really say that? So ridiculous...

Couple of things - buying from Costco has a 90 day exchange policy, so you will get new phones for 90 days.

Att is not legally required to provide a warranty replacement, they are providing it as a courtesy to the customer. You can go directly through lg, and send your phone in, and they will send you the phone back fixed, if possible, but if not then you will get a warranty replacement.

If it was damaged due to drop, and you have asurion or other warranty then you can file an adh claim, though you will have to pay deductible. I think people are more likely to get a new device through asurion, though no guarantees.

I've never dropped a phone. So there. I knocked one off a desk once (total screen destruction), but I've never dropped one. I most likely never will since I now stick a slinggrip on everything.

For the record, Otterbox doesn't sell "shockproof" cases. Waterproof? Yep. Shockproof? Nope.

Yeah. I did say that. But like I said...I have it in a case....otter box...lifeprof whatever it's called all I know is when I bought it is supposed to be shockproof. And the furthest it's ever dropped was from like a couch to a floor. But like I said. It has not been dropped in the past...like month or 2 and when it stopped working..it was sitting on a table charging. Sorry I guess we can't all be perfect. So yeah. Clearly this isn't going to get deleted by an admin so keep having your fun.

You know what's ridiculous? You. Haha. Grow up.

All I was trying to do was find out if anyone else had the issue. But apparently I'm the only person who's ever dropped a phone in their life.
