Dear folks

I've just changed from a Huawei P10 to a Note 9. I am in the UK, device purchased simfree and unlocked from Samsung UK website. On the EE network.

I was a previous note 7 user, as many others on here were.

My issue is getting Google pay set up. I do _need_ this, as my bank isn't with Samsung pay currently. I have however successfully set Samsung pay up for a credit card.

When I try to set it up (using the same email address as the rest of the Google accounts already on the Note 9, and the same account I successfully used on previous devices for google pay) I get the attached screen.

Any advice please?

Try this. Sign out of all Google accounts. Clear the cache partition and reboot. Sign into the phones main Google account from which it was set up. Good luck.

Done, but sadly no joy. Thanks for the suggestion. Does anyone else have a y thoughts, please?

can anyone help me, please? I have a ticket open with Google but as of yet no joy.

For Google Pay to work, Google Pay has to be your default pay system. If you successfully set up Samsung Pay then it may be your default pay system.

A mixture of this plus deleting all the data from Google play services did indeed sort the issue.

I now have both Google pay and Samsung pay active on my Note 9. Worth pointing out that (in UK at least) there are some card issuers that are with both, some with Samsung only, some with G pay only, and some with neither.
