Issues with group texts

[Android Central Question]

I recently bought a galaxy s21 (previously had iPhone 7) and am having issues with group texts

I can send out a group message, but the recipients say they receive it separately and the replies I get from them come individually.

I have this issue with both google messages and samsung messages. Group conversation is enabled in settings, download automatically is on, download while roaming is on. I have also tried resetting my network settings and checked APN settings with my mobile carrier (Aldimobile).

Nothing has worked, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Have you tried deleting the group and adding back ?

Is this just sms or mms also ?

I can send and receive sms from individual contacts just fine. When I send out a group text it goes out as a mms but the replies I get come though as individual sms. The other people in the group are all iphone users, I'm not sure if that makes a difference?

Sure it makes a difference that they all iphones users , in Google messages app open settings menu under advanced >group chat what's it set at?

Group chat is switched on.
I just created a new group text with two iphone users and an android user. The android user responded, it created a new group chat with me, the android user and only one of the iphone users. When that iphone user responded, it still came though individually

Mms in group chat settings enabled ? Are you using a sim card or esim?

MMS in group chat settings is enabled

How about mobile data is on ? If you turn WiFi off and send with just mobile data on ?

Did you deregister your number you used on the iPhone before going to S22u?

What if you try this not sure if it will work , go to setting>apps>at the top choose defeat app>tap message>tap messenger and use that and test?

i have tried all three of those and no luck - same issue for all

A group text works perfectly fine so long as it's only with other android users. If I try to create a group chat that includes iphone users, it won't work with them
