issues with inspire usb

i have been having an issue with my usb connecting. when i connect the usb to cpu i no longer get the option as to what i want it to connect with (disc drive, charge only, etc...). i have selected the ask me every time i connect. i have the usb tethering off. additionaly my cpu will recognize the phone as a removable disc drive, but when i click open or explore the cpu tells me to insert a disc into the romovable disc. my wife has an inspire as well and the computer works with her phone just fine and with the same cable any help or suggestions would be appreciated...thanks

Try using a different sd card to rule that out as an issue.

If that doesnt work, try turning off fast boot, then reset the phone. That worked for me for some reason.
