issues with saving/deleting contacts.

i've had my htc sensation for over a year now, and as of recently when i try to add/delete contacts nothing happens. whenever i attempt to remove a number from the sim, it simply stays there. further, whenever i attempt to add new contacts i receive the message "unable to save contact. sim card error." i've tried restarting, removing the sim, cleaning it, etc. to no avail. i'm growing progressively aggravated at the situation and have no idea what else i should be doing to remedy it. can anyone help me out here?

so i've discoverd that changing the group to which i'm saving to 'phone' instead of 'sim' works, but there are still numbers i'd rather not have on my sim anymore, and i'd still like to be able to add people onto my sim. no help here?
