Issues with SD card android 7

[Android Central Question]

I have a free government phone. It's an ANS. I've had lots of them, all different kinds, and never had issues with the SD card before. But I can't make the SD card my internal storage, can't move apps onto it, can't move files around on it, and all my mp4 files keep getting corrupted. I heard this could be a restriction from the phone manufacturer. I'm willing to do a little work if there's a way to override this because its the best phone I've had in a while aside from this issue. Is it fixable or is it time to throw this phone away?

What is the exact phone model? Also how old is the card? It could be that the card is failing
