This phone never gets very hot. Maybe the first time when it was installing and setting up it got a hot but since then it's never gotten any more than warm even while running multiple applications and or charging. I'm not suggesting by any means that the phone doesn't get hot internally but seems to be able to dissipate the heat if that's the case. I guess some of it could be due to running Android 7.0 but I don't really know. When I ran Android 7.0 on the Nexus LG 5x that would get hot sometimes but just not seeing it on the v20.

I noticed that too. My G5 has the same processor and ram, but gets burning hot when using lots of apps or charging. V20 stays cool and is barely noticeable when charging.

I felt that with the G5 also....maybe it was due to that thick layer of primer being a good insulater. LOL

This is great to hear! Seems like the V20 is an all-around good device to have! :)

I used it 40 mins for GPS and that never even Crossed my mind.......There's a bunch of little issues I had with my note 7 that I'm not experiencing with this phone......I was a defending the note 7 with every breath but this phone has opened my eyes that certain things on that phone weren't the best they could be...Speed...Operating Temp and battery life are the biggest standouts

Too bad they didn't go with the Snapdragon 821 which is a souped up 820.

I seriously don't think that 821 would be that much different. Google just threw that number out there to show that their own phone is different to sell the phone (Pixel) IMHO .....

That's something I've been noticing as well. After the initial setup, this phone hasn't gotten hot. In fact, it's been very cool.

The 821 is Oh so slightly faster. Like I feel like the 820 tops out at 2.15ghz per core and the 821 is like 2.2ghz or 2.25ghz so there would really be any visible difference in performance. I think I read it's only like 10% faster or something so not a biggy, especially since it's already faster in the V20 than the note 7 so I'm happy

I believe the 821 will support Android 8.0 where the 820 requires support from Qualcomm make it work.

Noticed the same thing, doesn't get hot. My LG G3 and G4 got pretty toasty!

My LG G3 gets pretty warm too... Glad I'm not alone in this! For a while there I thought it had one more glitch for me to worry about lool.
