I’ve been an Apple user since the original iPhone. I’m finally making the switch to Android and was contemplating getting a Samsung S25 Ultra, or holding out for a Google Pixel 10. Any thoughts on what would be the best experience after being on Apple so long?

Welcome aboard!

Pixels are sometimes considered a bit bare bones by some folks in comparison to other manufacturers. But they do have their share of great little features that no other manufacturer offers. I, personally, find the things the Pixel line offer more useful for my daily use and always find myself missing what the Pixels offer when I try a different phone.

Samsung, on the other hand, has what I like to call the "kitchen sink" approach. Meaning, it's chock-full of features and bells/whistles; it offers a ton of stuff that some may find overwhelming. Admittedly, they do offer some pretty awesome features that I wish Google would steal 🤣

I'd recommend watching some YouTube reviews, I know the Pixel 10 isn't out yet, but if you find some Pixel 9 videos it'll give you an idea of what a Pixel offers. Flossy Carter does great, in depth reviews going through EVERYTHING on the phone (warning: he does tend to have a potty mouth LOL and give yourself plenty of time. His review videos are like full length movies 😂)

Welcome to AC!
The pixel series is like the apple of Android lol but more customization, and Samsung is very customized if you're into that , if you get a chance to go to like a best buy or carrier store and get hands on with a pixel 9 pro xl and s25u see if you like one over the other.

Couple things to keep in mind
Samsung has better resale value or trade-in
If you know a little about the Apple pencil or have been interested then the s25u has one built into the device

Google has a very very good shoot and point camera
Faster updates/ security and to newer OS updates before all other Androids

Welcome. Glad you’re going to be making the switch as well. I’m going to be selling my 15PM in a couple of months and ordering the Pixel 10 pro or the S25+. I’ve used both pixels and Samsung before and enjoyed both. It’s hard to go wrong with Samsung’s hardware and the performance of them. I’ve wished for years that Pixels would use a snapdragon chip. I’ve loved the simplicity of Pixel ui but also loved customizing my Samsung phone. But I found after a couple of months of tinkering and customizing, I’d stop moving stuff around and changing themes and would just settle into one theme or home screen layout that is comfortable and familiar.

So I’m leaning more towards a Pixel 10 Pro because I know the newness and cool factor of being able to customize everything on a Samsung phone will wear off quickly. But if you haven’t used a Samsung phone before, I’d recommend trying one for yourself.

I also like the fact that a pixel phone has only one version of an app installed whereas Samsung has their own versions of apps that come preinstalled. I’d always feel compelled to try them out but I never gained anything from using them over the Google counterparts. I also hate that you have to buy the Ultra Samsung phone to have the best phone that they sell. At least Google offers the pro in a smaller form factor. I had the S23 ultra and it was a big phone. It was nice to have a big screen but that has its drawbacks too.
