I rooted my thunderbolt yesterday was flashing roms left and right and having a grand oh time but then today when I got into work I was told starting today they were giving out phones but using that bad Apple product we don't speak of i did want to have to use one of those. So I talk the are head it guy into letting me use ny thunderbolt I thought then all would be good until he told me it could be rooted and seeing he owns a rooted EVO 4G I could not pass my phone on him and tell him its not rooted. I was then forced to either take the apple product or unroot my phone. As I write this I am returing my phone to stock but for the 12 hrs my phone was rooted I had a grand oh time.

I'm guessing the issue is that with rooted phones, you can bypass the mandatory security configuration imposed by most corporate exchange accounts...? I would think that as long as you knew which servers and ports to point the services to in the setup you could do it yourself without anyone being the wiser, but I'm certainly not advocating doing anything that could get a person fired for violating policy.

I personally have to carry a BlackBerry for work and a Thunderbolt for myself.

Happy happy news after I bug the it guy and told him if he is allowed to use a rooted EVO for work why could I not use my tbolt he waked off and a hr later he came back and told me they change there policy. Of course they did but now I have to reroot the phone and get sense 3.0 back on there. So I guess a little knowledge and knowing how to hit the right buttons can get what you want
