Ok so I've had my phone for about 3 weeks. I love my phone but it seems like every week some new glitch comes up. Glitches that I didn't have to deal with when I had me T Mobile HTC Sensation for a year, though it had a long list of other problems. The first problem was that the music I purphased from Google Play and the music I have on my memory card won't combine into 1 music app.
The next one is I keep getting weird shortcuts to search engines I've never heard of and yesterday I got one from some game or something. I can remove them from my home screen but when I go to the app drawer, they're nowhere to be found. Another problem is that Temple Run lags on this phone. Like what's up with that? The last straw that mae me finally create a profile and create a thread is that beats audio no longer starts automatically.
These issues on top of the only slightly annoying multitasking issue that I know you're all aware of is making me unsatisfied with this phone. My brother who persuaded me to get his phone had to return his and get a new one. I don't know why yet. Basically I really don't want to HAVE to do this. I've been lurking this site since I got the phone so I would love it if one of you well informed andriod/HTV EVO users will be able to help me fix these glitches. There are more but it's 6am and I'm on the last leg of my shift so I can't remember what other problems there were. Like I said, I still think this is a good phone and if there is a quick fix for these issues then I would still reccommend this phone to anyone. Right now I'm under the impression that not a lot of thought went into the mechanics of how this phone is supposed to work. Thanks.

EDIT: I just remembered a very important issue! It keeps deleting my contacts!!!!!

Here is something to think about. Has these symptoms appeared after you had loaded up a app?

Hmmm, I don't know where to begin.

I've never bought music from Google Play. Does it download the music to your phone or is it streaming? If it's streaming, music apps on the phone won't pick it up. Go into Play Music, select the music you want locally on the phone, and Make Available Offline. Now your other music apps will pick it up, but they'll show as generic music files without any track/artist/album tag information.

As for your other issues, I'm guessing you downloaded a rogue app with some sort of invasive ad server or other spyware that's constantly running in the background and interfering with everything else. Temple Run should not lag - it runs smooth as butter for me. If there's an app that's constantly polling the network, it could cause general lag on your phone.

Try going to settings -> Apps, tap running, and see if there's something running that shouldn't be. If so, tap on it and stop it. Also, at the bottom of the screen, tap the green part the reports free RAM to show cached processes. Again, if you see something that shouldn't be there, stop it. If you stopped a needed system process and your phone gets even more wonky, just reboot. It may be a process of elimination. If you do figure out what was causing your issues, go to All under apps and force stop then disable the problem app.

You can also try going to settings -> Accounts and Sync to see if there's anything there that shouldn't be. If so, delete it.

I hate to sound like a Sprint rep here, but your best option may be to do a factory reset and start fresh. Back up any pictures or anything else to your sd card first. As you re-load your apps, pay careful attention to what you're installing, stick with stuff from the Play Store, and don't tap through any in-app ads. If you keep having problems, there may be a hardware glitch with your phone, which means you'll have to exchange it.

To perform a factory reset:
Shut down the phone completely.
After a few seconds, hold power+volume down until you get a white menu
Press volume down to select factory reset
Press Power button to perform the reset

Well I did a factory reset and most of the problems are gone. I'm being more careful about the apps I download and haven't gotten any spam apps. Although Temple Run still lags a bit, just not as much.
The factory reset also got rid of the issue I was having with google plus for a few days but SOMEHOW the music files have seperated again and I can't listen to the music on my phone and the music I purchased from google play at the same time which is really annoying. I do like the google music player better than the one on the phone but if I can't keep the music stored on the phone with my google play music then I'll just download a better music player app and go back to buying music from itunes and storing them on my phone. That sucks because I have at least $50 worth of music in google play.
I'm gonna have some time after work to see if downloading the desktop music player for google and playing around with that actually works. Thanks for the info!

Another issue I've noticed over the past day or so the that if I'm watching Netflix, the show/movie will pause on its own and I'll have to push play. That's not a big issue but when I'm in my twitter app, I think somehow the adds will click on? I have no idea why but I think it's screen sensitivity problems.
