One X has a polycarbonate unibody which is structurally more rigid and better than the 4G LTE which has multiple materials and seams. Esp for a phone with a non-removable battery, there was no reason to have removable panels.

I would rather have the MAO on it, to be honest with you. MAO > polycarbonate > plastic. I guess the reasoning behind the upper panel is the NFC capability. Although that doesn't sound kosher to me, unless the output signal from the NFC circuit is measured in picowatts (sorry - that's the nerd in me). I just need to get it in my hands to feel it. I also notice that the lower part of the back looks like a smaller cover. I haven't seen anyone talking about this, so... WTF is that? I imagine the white version, which there will surely be, will look sick as hell.

The evo 4g lte, is made out of one solid piece of aluminum.

The body of the EVO 4G LTE is a unibody and seamless. Go watch the vid of the Sprint guys explaining how they designed it.
