I used iPhone 3GS for 2 years before upgrading to the Nexus. I must say my experience has been 100x better than the iPhone. iPhone restricts so much that it gimps your phone.

-no more using laggy itunes to transfer anything
-no more using 3rd party apps to use device as HDD
-no more limited customization options
-no more having to jailbreak to add features

Android is the future as it evolves around the user experience. iOS to me feels like its been stuck in the past for the last 5 years.

Same here. I'm still a mac as far as the desktop, and I don't see M$ changing that anytime soon. But as far as phones go, Apple came on strong but didn't innovate on the user experience. iOS is a solid platform, but they stood still while the rest of the world swept by in terms of interaction with the software.

This past week, my company offered all attorneys and IT staff iPhone 4Ss through Verizon. My Coworker and I asked if we could get the Nexus instead and were approved. The experience has been incredible. I still have my 3GS, and using them side by side the iPhone feels like a 3 year old toy.

I'm happy for you. I unfortunately have the opposite situation. I've been an android user and my boss was nice enough to get us smart phones....except he got us all iphones. I'm greatful but I can't justify paying for and carrying another phone....

Anyway it feels so limiting compared to android. If a dumb phone was a 1 an a Android phone was a 10 I'd rate the iPhone around a 6 as far as what can actually be done with it...

Welcome over to the green robot. I agree with everything u guys said about iOS. ITunes is a pain in the neck, and now that Google music is official and has it's own music store, along with movies and books, android is on par in the media department with IOS.

Problem with Apple is their last two "major" updates were so lame. They added a few new cool features and the other over 100 or 200 new features were very minor. At least iOS 4 had an amazing upgraded iPhone to go along with it. This year...yawn.

Plus Android's mascot is so much cooler.

Plus the android team at Google actually wished us all a Merry Christmas. Apple doesn't even care about their customers.

I've been using ICS on the Galaxy Nexus since launch and on my Fascinate for a couple of weeks before that. Before that I used a Palm Pre Plus for nearly 2 years and have a Firesale Touchpad.

Believe it or not I would actually jump back to webOS in a New York minute if it was on a phone like the Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S. It was more open than Android in many ways, (no root needed to add custom patches or overclock) and the UI was multitasker's dream come true. The OS needs a little more work to have the power of Android and of course doesn't have a million apps, but the basics of webOS were so well thought out that I think it's still ahead of ICS in many ways. Too bad HP and Palm mishandled it.

So I'm sticking with ICS for the foreseeable future. I have high hopes because Google hired Matias Duarte who designed webOS, but the UI is so different that I wonder if it could ever be what I'm hoping for. Don't get me wrong, there are some great things about ICS, it just that I loved how webOS worked.
