Been running cm10 and I must say I really like it

I'm really fighting the urge to try rooting my sgs3 first. Worried I'll brick my phone though.

I hope u are aware that when rooting, it takes away all Samsung features (Kies Air, All Share, WiFi Direct, and possibly gestures)

Rooting doesn't remove any of the Samsung features. CM & AOSP does that.

I was too but I had to try and it worked out just make sure you research it and take your time cz it can happen

I just rooted mine today, and installed the Liquid Smooth ROM. I wish I knew what I was doing. Haha. I'm lost.
