This is the only phone that I lose cell signal in certain parts of my home which is crazy.. but in other parts of my house I get the fasted speed from this phone.....

Also I have the old grandfathered Verizon plan and I've noticed I get 5g sub6.... I'm not supposed to get 5g on my plan but for some my reason I'm getting it on this phone??

Regardless there's no way I can keep this phone if I continue getting a crappy signal....

Also I live in Naperville Illinois on the 3rd floor :/ maybe it's a bad phone that I need to replace but I doubt it...???

When I received my P5 I put my 4G LTE sim card from Verizon in it. It was out of my old Nokia Icon. Turned the phone on and whoa, I was on a sub6 5G network. They wanted me to get a new sim card and told me I wouldn't get the mmWave 5g without it. We were on a Verizon 3Gb shared data plan too. If you dig deep enough on Verizon's website, it has a chart that shows what service you can receive on what type of sim card. And nation wide 5g was in fact listed as compatible with a 4g LTE card.

Why don't you set up WiFi calling? I have terrible service at my house and I've been using WiFi calling for about 3 years now. I can at least count on my WiFi.

My service isn't great either. Unlocked pro on Verizon. I ran speed tests comparing the mobile speeds in my house with the 6 pro and the 12 pro max and the speeds are consistently about 20% slower. I also seem to lose mobile internet quite a bit. I have some concerns about the modem in the device.

I have the regular 6
I was concerned with the modem at first but after a few days with it. It seems on par with my s21 and my ip12. Also it seems to reconnect after loosing signal in bad areas faster than either of the others.


I will say that I'm on Verizon using my same SIM card in all three phones. I keep the pixel locked to just LTE. Maybe that helps.

Great Wifi and 5G speeds on mine, but I am on T-Mo SE PA. My SIM started on a N6, and has been in a few other phones since then. They said I needed a new SIM when I put it in my P5 to get 5G but that wasn't the case. The speeds are faster in any location I have been in compared to the P5.

To be honest other places through out my house ice never had speeds this quick with 5g on... And out side of my house I'm getting insane speeds. I'm on the old grandfathered plan from Verizon with unlimited hotspot and I'm actually getting 5g.. I'm not supposed to. No other phone gave me 5g... The iphone 13, Galaxy fold 3, one plus 9 pro. .

The last I knew, 5G wasn't established in that many cities, and carriers have tried pulling the wool over consumer's eyes by replacing the icon to say it's getting 5G, even if it isn't. I could be wrong, and it could be more widespread, but it's US carriers we're talking here. They've pulled more shady shenanigans in the past.

For Verizon, it's their mmWave ultra fast stuff that's only in high population areas. Places like downtown Charlotte or Panthers stadium. Every where else will be the sub6 nationwide 5G. And yes, I receive sub6 5G just about every where I have traveled around here on TMO, not so much on Verizon.

For us, and where we live, TMO crushes Verizon on 5G coverage. I now receive 5G in our house, I couldn't on Verizon. I literally had my Pixel 5 on 4G LTE all the time. And had 4G LTE, just about every where I went, while on Verizon. Again, it's all about your location. Besides the constant dropped calls we had on Verizon, the 5G coverage was just one of the reasons we went to TMO.

It's the marketing shenanigans I don't agree with. They make it sound as if you'll have Verizon mmWave ultra high speed data connection every where you go. It couldn't be further from the truth.
