"I've ordered my Moto X Style" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Motorola needs to explain this since not really 64GB storage even by the normally misunderstood manner of people not considering format parameters and stock apps some of the 64GB. The normal available for 64GB is 59.6GB (pre OS and stock apps), so something odd is going on compared to other devices and actually makes their storage less than even Samsung devices. Almost like they should call them 12GB, 28GB and 60GB models. Not adding up.

Even if we added the Samsung stock bloat the storage is way short of what it should be.

that is bizarre, the formatted capacity should be around 59GB even if the /system partition took 8gb you'd have more than 49 free. something def seems wonky.

anyone else with a 64gb model showing less than 50gb available on boot?

i wonder what the 16 and 32gb models are showing

My XPE, which was scheduled for 9/15 delivery, is on the delivery truck as I write this. Fast delivery!!! Those of you who have a 9/15 delivery date should check your tracking number for the latest update.

Does anyone know where they are shipped from? Is the origination China? What are the typical transport times from picked up to delivered?

I ordered mine (white/champagne, cognac leather, champagne accent, no custom engraving or message) within an hour of moto-maker opening up on 9/2. My order is still in the "Order Approved" phase on the order status page and my card has not been charged. I called customer support today and they said it was already built and is waiting to be picked up by FedEx. They said I will get a tracking number once FedEx actually picks up the device. I've had a delivery date of 9/24 from the start but customer support made a point that it would be delivered on OR BEFORE that date. Really hoping for the latter :) They were unable to tell me why I am yet to be charged. I guess that'll be another little surprise coming my way.

My guess is an allocation/firmware error that was missed, but the only way to fix would be a complete reset and correct parameters in new firmware. Problematic changing it otherwise. Nothing else seems to make sense (compared to other devices).

That's my fault. I meant to type today is the day for shipping. I wasn't fully awake when I typed that this morning. I still haven't received any type of shipping confirmation.
 
Deep sea blue with lemon accent. I didn't really think that I would like the color of the accent but I love it. The only thing I am wondering is will it affect resale value.

Yeah it's weird only 28 gigs seen out of 32

It looks good! Personally I think engraving would affect resale the most. I think people could see past the custom welcome message, though it is not ideal but just having their colors, it looks good. I wouldn't worry about it.

This is what I was concerned about as well. It is the main reason why I didn't add any engraving or custom signature.
 
My status has been "device being built" for 5 days. Does it really take 5 days to build one phone?

It's shipped from China via FedEx international. Only takes about two days.

I ordered a plain jane 16 GB Moto X with a custom greeting maybe a couple hours after preorders went live. Had a 9/15 delivery date, but it was pushed back to 9/22. I got that email yesterday. Wtf... A custom greeting can tack on 7 days to the delivery? They screwed the pooch in my 2014 Moto X last year too and it got delivered 3 days after the Moto's estimated delivery date.

28ish is about right, you lose a little over 7% in formatting, so 28-29gb is acceptable for 32gb. but losing the amount the 64gb version is doesn't make sense.

seems like an issue with the 64gb model only maybe

but also, i want my phone! i'm getting super jealous of people who got theirs.

but so long as i get it by the 17th (like they keep telling me) i'll be happy enough.

still hoping against hope that when i get home from work there will be a fedex tag on my door saying my phone is at our complex's office.

Google Fed Ex Home Delivery Manager and register. Then you can login and Fed Ex will show if they have any shipments to your name and address. Good luck

Thanks! I made an account, went to delivery manager, a tracking window popped up, but it's empty. I put my shipping address into my account profile. Does it automatically use this address, or do I have to manually type it in somewhere?

EDIT: Actually, it looks like you have to make an account and THEN register for delivery manager by entering your info again. When I do this, I get an error (code 1000) saying that they can't verify me. Maybe my phone hasn't shipped yet. :'(

i'm having the same issue. be careful now i'm locked out of registering because of too many failed attempts. and it's been locked for like 2 days.

I forgot that I had changed my shipping address to my billing address (moved out of my house recently) to avoid any cancellations I heard could happen. It worked when I put in the correct info, but is saying I don't have any shipments to that address. Bummer.
