If you guys are tired of the robotic TTS voice for our phones, you guys should try this app out. It's awesome. I use Amy UK voice. Sounds sexy lol. So far it works for google nav, EVA voice assistance, Iris, any other app that uses the phones built in TTS. IVONA can be found in the Market and require downloading selected voice to your phone.

I think I found out about this app via Androidspin tweet and I'm not sure if this works for all phones so I just posted it here since I know it works for our evo 3d.

Hmmm, did some checking and apparently it is understandably a large app and you can't move to sd. Just an fyi for those of you who aren't rooted. Also from what I can tell, no male voices. Still may give it a try if I can move to sd.

I have had svox on my phones for a while (just transferred it to my brand new shiny 3D), and use a male UK voice (oliver) . It's a little robotic but much more natural sounding than the stock voice. Just a thought.

Ya unfortunately Ivona is mostly women voice. The UK amy is better than the U.S. voice and sounds more realistic and did I mention sexy lol. I also saw svox but I notice some voice you have to pay 2.99.

Ivona Amy uses 30.63mb on my phone. Kendra US takes up 32.17mb. The actual Ivona app uses 2.66mb. It really isn't that much considering Evo 3d has about 1000mb of space for apps. Now if you run this on Evo 4g then that's a different story.

Just to add I have well over 100 apps on my phone that I left to install automatically (which data stays in memory) and I have never needed to move any apps to SD to make any room.

You do know that Ivona are trials until November 15. Then they will charge you if you want to continue using, just like SVOX. It is in beta right now. It will be up to you on which voice from which one you want. Either way it is going to cost you. Look on the market and you will see it is a trial.

Thanks. I didn't realize that. But I have tried svox and I think Ivona UK sounds more natural IMO compared to the UK voices in svox. The only drawback is Ivona is limited in voice options and are all females so it some might not like it but I'm already happy with one voice so I'm ok with it. I'm hoping it isn't going to cost more than what svox is charging.

Lol, I could live with a female voice since that is what we have now anyway, although it does sound very robotic. Come on, ladies out there, you have to admit that a James Earl Jones voice would be awesome! He's got the best and smoothest narrative voice ever.

Actually, I want my phone to speak in Patrick Stewart's voice. That would rock.
