J3 Emerge Boost configuration process

I bought a J3 Emerge (cheap) just to listen to music as I fall asleep (dont judge Im old )

I only really need the wifi not the phone at all, but even tho I have it on airplane mode it constantly reminds me my configuration is not complete. I can just keep ignoring it, but was wondering if there is a quick fix or setting to shut this off and just go on my merry way and have my $49 wifi music player

Is it a notification in the status bar? If so, swipe own the notification panel and long-press it, then tap App Info. See if you can turn off notifications for whatever app is responsible.

Take out sim card

Ok good suggestions. I did turn off notifications, but then it just keeps a permanent little icon saying "checking device status"

Removing sim card, adds a notice icon to insert SIM card.

Put sim card back in.

Guess I'll have to live with the the little check status icon. Not a really big deal, just one of those little annoying things
