Jabra FM Transmitter question

I was starting to have problems with my Nexus headphone jack, so decided to get the bluetooth Jabra Freeway for the car to save more wear and tear on the jack. It works great with the built-in speakers, but as is usually the case, the FM transmitter is hit or miss. Without taking the thing apart and messing with a soldering gun, are there any tricks for improving the signal? When there is static, touching the device clears it up, so it may be a ground issue. Any thoughts?

Attaching the cable to charge the unit usually helps by acting as an antenna. Also where you pIace the transmitter effects the signal. You'll have to play around to find the best location.

I tried the charger idea and it didn't help in my case, but I will definitely try moving it around. Luckily the sound is decent through the built in speakers, but just so much better through the stereo when the signal is clear.
