Just got an 835 meg security update. It wasn't 7.1.. sigh. Skipped over December update. Update has Jan 5 patch level.

If I'm not mistaken, 7.1.1 is available for the Nexus 6: https://developers.google.com/android/images#shamu

scroll down to find the factory image download link. If you want to install manually that's the way to go, unless if you want to wait for the OTA to push to your device.

I already had 7.0 so a little confused about the size of the update.. others are saying that they are being updated to 7.0 in this 835 meg patch.

I was in beta for 7.0 but when I didn't see any updates after 7.0, I opted out. Instantly i got the November security update. No more until now. Still waiting for 7.1.1 OTA.
Also my N6 is wifi only airplane mode no sim. I use it as a tablet for now.

If I don't have my AT&T sim card in will I get the security update? I'm on the October patch .

I'm running 7.0 from beta

Con5150, I'm in the exact same position. In the past, some folks would pull their sim and get an immediate update, so I think we will get updates over wifi at some point.

I've got two devices running 7.0 with older security updates. I've been working with Project Fi support, and they have asked multiple times about whether my devices are in the beta. I've tried to tell them that the Beta program doesn't support the Nexus 6 anymore (and thus the question is irrelevant.)

Just curious, what carrier are folks on if you recently received an OTA update?
