Sorry but I disagree wholeheartedly!!!!!
We're not talking about some run-of-the-mill phone maker here... we're talking about Google which is one of the largest companies ever to exist! And the issue is not with some "off-the-wall, goofy app" but ANDROID AUTO which they own! The fact that so many are having the issue tells me that it's a popular app, and that it should have been in the top tier of apps to be tested before release! So then, it's fairly evident that THEY DID NOT TEST IT or probably any other apps but they throw this crap against the wall to see what sticks and what slides to the bottom and ends up in a heap of hot shade gets their attention! NOT the way to do business and I'm sick and tired of these greedy companies using their paying customers as free BETA testers!!!!!!!!!
Got anything more to stay Einstein?

Still no update here. But I'm wondering from an earlier post, if they're having Bluetooth issues, maybe they pulled it till they figure it out. I'm on Fi in California.

The new QPR is out for us beta testers. Should get the January security update as well.
Oops, guess I’m late to this party :)

You either misunderstood, or I wasn’t clear, if you are addressing me and calling names.

I was talking about the inability to test an operating system for interactions with every existing off-the-wall and goofy app. At no point did i say that Android Auto was either goofy or off-the-wall.

I’m really getting annoyed.

I don’t have my January update for my P7P, and my other half doesn’t even have the December update for her 5a, let alone January. We are both Mint Mobile customers. (T-Mobile MVNO)

Does anyone know what the hell is going on?

TMO pulled it, it was breaking something within there network. When it's sorted out they'll release it. Really not a big deal it's just a monthly security update not missing out on anything.

Whoa Stanley, don't go all HAL 9000 on us now lol ;)

Except on the T-Mobile branded devices, I don't think there's any way for T-Mobile to do that, other than for them to negotiate with Google (who provides the images), to block in the interim, for devices on their network (or Fi, Mint, etc, whichever MVNO).

This would be akin to say Dell asking MS to not release updates to their "XYZ laptops", due to a cache bug in the chipsets. This does happen, in reality, to some degree, but it'd be more along the lines of say Intel, AMD, ASUS, etc., working with MS to fix before deploying, based on the chipsets.

Just wanted to clarify, that T-Mobile can't really "gate" the updates, on phone SKUs they don't deploy (OS) to.

It's an annoyance, but likely a lot better than the alternative...

Whatever the reason/excuse/explanation, it really grinds my gears.

I do suppose though, that if I got the update, and my phones stopped making and receiving calls, I would be even more unhappy.

The truly annoying thing is that my Googleless phone received an update on 05 January which incorporated the 03 January Security update, while on the 14th I still don’t have it on my Google-infested phone.

I dunno, I got the Jan 5 update for my Pixel 7 a few while ago. Unlocked on US mobile.

I have the Jan 5 2023 security update, but Google Play System still on Nov 1 2022. Google 7 Pro Verizon.
