"java.util.concurrent. TimeoutException: Thread Binder_2 gave up waiting for partitionPrivate after

i read the specs and it says the the storage on my zmax pro is expandable up to 256gb via miucro sd card but whenever i try to set it up it keeps giving me this error message, "java.util.concurrent. TimeoutException: Thread Binder_2 gave up waiting for partitionPrivate after 180000ms," what does that mean?

Welcome to Android Central! Does that card work in other devices or computers? Can you try another card?

When you say you get this whenever you try to set up the card, what do you mean by "set up"? Are you trying to format the card as Internal Storage, or are you just trying to use it to save files like photos and music?

In a PM to me, you wrote, "when i say setup i do mean format and use as internal storage and yes the card works in everything else. i also tried 2 other 256gb sd cards and the same issue with both. i got tired of trying and i needed to know if it was the phone or were these sd cards counterfeit. so i just went out and bought a 128gb sd card and it worked just fine. i think the issue was that 256gb was too much for my phone. IDK... i would like to use the 256gb if you have any suggestions."

The official specs actually say that it only supports up to 128 GB microSD cards, so that might be why: https://www.zteusa.com/zte-zmax-pro-mpcs
