I downloaded the app that among other things puts a battery status on your status bar up top. Said it wasn't approved for my device but I installed anyway and now I'm going to have to do hard reset. It locks my device up. Hangs up calls, disconnects bluetooth and I can't backup my numbers anymore.

Perhaps next time you are warned an app is not approved for your device, you will refrain from installing. Your best bet would be to do a factory reset and start fresh. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Yep, I did a hard reset this morning and am back up and running again. Lesson learned.

Something unexpected but very welcome with the hard reset is better battery life by far. I'm at 14 hours and 40% battery left and before I couldn't go 10 hours before it was at less than 20%.
