Jaybird Bluetooth Headphones with Note 3

One thing I noticed on my Rezound, if I opened up another application while listening to my MP3s, if I try to use the Bluetooth controls, the application that I last launched will interfere with the controls. Thus, try disabling all non-essential apps running in the background prior to launching your MP3 player to see if that helps.

Only problem with that is if you were last using some other application and let the phone sleep and lock for a while and then grabbed your headphones to initiate a call or music, you would have to manually unlock your phone to close those apps OR try to remember to close the non-essentials before you let your phone go to sleep and lock; either way, that would still remove some of the convenience of Bluetooth.

It must be that these Moto headphones don't agree with Samsung phones. As even in call settings, I already had the phone set to allow blue tooth calls even when the device is locked.

I could make calls just fine when I had a Motorola Photon, but lost this ability when I picked up the Galaxy S3 and now the Note 3. I hoped Samsung had edited the functionality in a way that would allow hands free usage from all blue tooth headphones, but, after this discussion, it seems that I may just need another set of headphones, but I just don't know which ones. Don't wanna "buy and take back" and "buy and take back" again. There's gotta be a set that will work properly with this phone. I was hoping the jaybirds would be that set as I have heard great things about that brand and wouldn't mind picking up a pair.

My headphones is the Logitech WP-450. After testing that feature more closely, I think only hp that could work is such which uses phone numbers or the address book directly. Just like the car's BT system you mentioned probably does.

Hmmm...hadn't noticed that headphones like that exist. Not sure how to identify BT HPs that support that functionality, but I'll see what I can find. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

No, I don't know if such headphones exist. Thus we are in a dead end, unless Samsung does something.

Did you get to test whether the Jaybirds allow you to initiate actions via bluetooth when the Note 3 is locked by a pattern or PIN?

Just tested with the Bluebuds X, and it does let me play and fast forward with the device locked by a PIN.

Interested in getting these for the gym as well. Interested to see some feedback here.

Not sure if I stated it, but the sound quality is really good (everyone that's listened has told me that they sound louder than most bluetooth devices they have experienced in the past), but their customer service almost ruins it for me.

I run daily with the Jaybirds and love them. I would suggest picking up a set of foam ear cushions to use with them. Improved the fit and sound for me.

I have a pair of power beats, and I'll say their customer service is amazing. I had a pair go out on me, and they swapped them out no questions asked. I had my new pair in less than 2 weeks. I just want these jay birds for the gym. I'll have to look into them, thanks!

I've seen em go as low as $120. I saw a post regarding a special last month using promo code USATBBX501135 Not sure if it'll work now, but $120 shipped is not a bad deal, and like I said, the headphones themselves aren't bad, it's their customer service and their unwillingness to replace one of my earbuds that is separating (possibly cheap glue) that is a bit disappointing. I have a pair of Klipsch S4s that stopped working on me, called up their customer service and a few days later, I had a new pair of their UPDATED versions. They didn't even bat an eye and gave me an updated pair. I wonder if they make a bluetooth set....

I would love it if klipsch made some bluetooth sports specific earbuds. I use my Power beats for running a lot, and I can sweat in them no problem.

How did you manage to connect your Note 3 to the blue buds X? i can't get mine to connect :/ is it an software update needed for the note 3? which version of updated software do you have on your note 3?

Mine connected right away. How many other bluetooth devices do you have connected? I had an issue with a bluetooth speaker once and then I tried pairing it a 2nd time and it took. If you have a lot of items already paired, you may want to unpair them until you get your Bluebud X's paired.

Also, just as an FYI, if you find you're having the same issue with the earpads that I had (they become separated from the inner cylinder) and decide you want to get a replacement set of earpads, stay away from these. Amazon.com: Comply Tsx-500 Comfort PLUS Earphone Tips (Black, 3 Pair, Medium): Electronics I made the mistake of buying them and they're not very comfortable and even worse, they're extremely hard to clean.

We are all on the same page, so I want to ask this questrion here. I have the Motorola S11 FLEX HD bluetooth phones. The sound is amazing. Also, I am a workout freak, I have no intention of working out in these.. :D My question is on the bluetooth connection. When I fiirst pulled them out of the package they connected right up to my Note 3 for media and phone.

This morning I am out, and when I connect them up to the Note 3, they say "connect to phone audio".. whereas, yesterday it said connected to phone and media audion.. Finally, they keep going in and out on that option. Finally after fooling with it, I got it be connected for "media audio" but no phone. Well, I am not into answering the phone with the earphones, but I would like to know the steps to control that action. I found a screen, but it refuses the check box when I try to check for Media.

I am going to through a learning curve.. :D

I wish I knew. I've noticed my phone is a little fickle as well. Sometimes I can begin music play from my Bluetooth earphones, and sometimes I have to start the music on my phone. I just chalk it up to one of those android quirks since it's not that vital an issue for me to initiate music play from my device or Bluetooth earphones. Once music play begins, then I can control start/stop and ff/rwd functions....quirky indeed.

We on learning bit together. :D

With that said, I just went on my Note 3 settings. Went to bluetooth settings. Touched the Flex 11 which are connected, and then another screen appeared, and gave me the option of "Called Audio" and "Media Audio".. I checked "phone" and "media" was already checked. Now it says Flex 11 connected for phone and media.. Don't know why I couldn't do this when I was out, or the phone didn't do it.. Learning curve. :D

I can take my phone out to my car and it'll connect, and then turn bluetooth off, come into the house, and turn on my bluebuds and then my phone, and the phone won't connect. Then I can connect my bluebuds to my phone, turn off bluetooth, get into my car, turn on bluetooth, and it won't actively connect there either. Gotta love Android quirks....
