Jelly Bean and Low Volume

Last week I updated my from from ICS to JB - worst mistake ever!!

So many things have changed about my phone in ways that I do not like!!

But, I'm trying to keep an open mind because, unfortunately, there's no going back, and I don't have the money to buy a new phone right now.

Latest woe -- why has my volume changed, regardless of whether it's for media, call audio, ringer audio, etc.? I have it set at max, and yet I can barely hear when my phone rings. And I used to be able to rock out when my music was playing, but no more...

Makes me not only regret the update, but also the SII in general... ah, I am really eyeing that HTC One with envy now...

Any thoughts or TRUE fixes? i.e., is there some stealth setting that I am unable to locate that will allow me to override what Samsung now thinks that maximum audio output should be? Or do they now get to dictate this, too?

Thanks.

Did you try Home > Menu > Settings > Sound > Volume since you upgraded? Sounds / volume work differently in JB. Just using the volume up / down key won't change the level setting as it relates to other things on the phone, just overall volume of the phone.
