Samsung is already ready with their update and waiting for some UI mods and few enhancement. They will be releasing Jelly Bean update for their new Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1 by August 2nd week just after the Motorola Xoom update.
Found here. I don't know what their source is though.

It depends on carriers mostly. I have a Galaxy S II and have had ICS since February. I have the international version that was sold in Korea.

XDA is a blessing so waiting on carriers becomes moot.

Probably because Google wants the Nexus 7 to be used mostly in potriat since it is aimed at the Kindle Fire. There is no way they will push it to bigger tablets without landscape.

Personally I can't understand why Google would want their tablet to be reminiscent of the Kindle Fire. I understand competing at same price point but honestly, if I wanted a Kindle I'd have already gotten one. Many prefer landscape over portrait..

Samsung is notoriously slow when it comes to OTA updates for smartphones,
but part of the blame goes to the cellular carriers.

With Galaxy Tab(Wi-Fi only), there is not such delay. Once Samsung has
Jelly Bean ready to be pushed out over OTA, it will do so very quickly.

However..... there's not evidence that they're even working on a Jelly Bean
update at all. :D
Great point!! SInce it's wifi only, we can only hope Samsung will push updates faster w/O the same delay when there's carrier involvement.

Why is Google acting more and more like Apple these days? :(
I'm lost. How is Google acting like Apple?

Just did an update. Done before i can finish my coffee. I will know by days end if I can tell the difference

I just hope if / when JB gets released, that its not thru Kies. Such a piece of garbage. It's only worked once, barely , after an update. Now...nada

I came across this stunning bit of news by accident in the Q&A part of Samsung's Web Site:
It seems that Flash Player is no longer supported on Android after 4.0 - a good reason NOT to upgrade your TAB to Jelly Bean if you rely on the app. Read on:
"Question: flash player
Frustrated with my galaxy tab. I cannot watch any video on my tablet. Every time I click on a video the device ask for downloading flash player and when I go to apps store it does not allow me to down load flash player. Either I have to be able to download flash player or some other way be able to watch video.

Answer:
Thank you for contacting Samsung.

Adobe officially announced that they have ended support of Flash on Android mobile devices effective with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. You can read more about this announcement here:

You are welcome to try installing the version available for download via the link below, but there are no guarantees that it will function. Please read the disclaimer.

Not a deal breaker for me.

Frankly, I don't like a plugin (such as Flash) that comes with the attitude that Adobe brings with it. They have pretty much written off a large potential market because they want to maintain control... That is fine, as far as I am concerned, they can keep control of single vendor solutions... I will, in turn, make my decision concerning technology to keep them from holding my platform of choice hostage. Now is the time to promote new technology to replace the dinosaur called Flash.

I propose a different approach other than avoiding an upgrade...

If you visit a site that uses Flash, my suggestion is to let them know that they are writing off a portion of the mobile world... There are ways to have nice sites without bowing down to Adobe.

Wouldn't it be nice if we all lived in the "ticky tacky" world that Apple (and now Adobe) want for us???

It is all about being informed in advance. A huge benefit of Jelly Bean to me will be the improved Google voice input -- support for offline voice-to-text. No more need for wi-fi when dictating. If we are offered the upgrade to Jelly Bean, I want to go in with eyes wide open. I am grateful to you and others in this forum for your insights.

There was a link where is said that Galaxy Tab 2 would get JB in August.

Anyone that has got JB OTA ??

Only one website ever reported that, and it didn't have a source. You can't believe everything you read on the internet.
