It looks like the other threads got shut down. Evidently things were getting heavy.

Here's the bottom line to me.

First of all, I am not trying to start a war.

I've said it before and I will say it again, I respect all of your hard work and effort and am extremely grateful for everything you have done.

Bottom line, its your work and your code. You get to decide what if anything you want to do with it. I dont have anywhere near the skills to pull off what you have done. I have however seen the really great dev's put their work on github for anyone and everyone to see and use. I mean the fact of the matter is without the CM team none of us would have anything to do but sit on our stock roms. Those guys are busting their butts everyday to improve Android and they are doing it for free and they are putting the code out there for everyone.

That standard is why everyone is asking you to put your code out there.

I understand that you want people to learn from the ground up and no matter what they will have to, but to have your base code as a starting point will save alot of work.

No matter what, you have achieved a tremendous amount and by leaving your code, you see that the next group can achieve more. Look at how many people have used mik, adfadd, franco, paulo as their base to build the next evolution.

Continue with the spirit of open source. Believe in the karma of things.

Thats my 2 cents. No matter what you decide to do. You have my thanks.

Thrivin, please stop trying to incite flame wars, we are all friends here. I'd advise you to keep your opinions under a hat as joban has done EVERYTHING for us and we have done NOTHING for him so please refrain from threads like this. If you erase your comment I will erase mine and we just pretend it never happened.

For interested parties, not providing source code for a kernel has nothing to do with pride or personal preference. This is a GPL code violation that forums & developers must enforce and follow.

These are our forum rules as listed that we enforce and observe.

If anything except a 100% completely stock kernel is used, you must provide source. This is equally important to ROM developers who include custom kernels and kernel developers. Also, any AOSP, or other open source applications that have been modified, you need to provide links to patch or source.

If you use GPL components, but do not make any modifications to them whatsoever, you should provide a link to the original source of your GPL code.
Sources accompanying a release should be complete, and contain all the necessary source code for any modules, scripts or definition files. Complete sources will be defined as those which compile correctly and completely against the platform for which the software is distributed, and which contain any and all modifications made to the released General Public Licensed code. The source code supplied should be the exact version for which the source code is being requested, complete with all modifications.
As for this thread, it is being closed before things get started. Further threads or comments about this developer or the developers closed threads will result in members having infractions handed out.

Paul.
