Joined the Nexus 6p family!

You like the brightness on the Nexus when you're outside? And if you can live with battery (can be hard when you come from 6S Plus).. but as mentioned above, some of those "minuses" can be justified with a lower price. 6P (if you get it cheap) seems to be better value for money.

I would still give it a couple of days before you get rid of the iPhone ;)
Agreed. OK m gonna give the 6p another full week before I decide.

The battery is definitely getting better. I don't think anything will come use to my iPhone 6s Plus though. The battery life on the 6p is already better than any other Android Ive used, and I think I need the the "honeymoon" phase is over, it'll be even better!

The brightness outside doesn't bother me at all? I haven't had any problems seeing who's calling or texting?

Agree with undefined, really make sure you want to get rid of your iPhone since when you do and if you regret it the cost to come back will eat into that money you saved. I've tried to come back to Android multiple times since the Nexus 5 came out but I just can't do it.
Same here. I always bounce back and forth between Android and iOS. I seem to stay on Android devices longer though?

Being that the rest of my family is on iOS, having a iPhone makes sense for iMessage, FaceTime, and AirDrop.....but that's too easy lol. Because of this, I will always have a iPhone close by, just not sure if I need a 6s Plus when one of my iPhone 5s's can work just fine?

If a Android is gonna be daily driver, I might as well get top $$ for my 6s Plus while I can?

Again, I'm still in the testing phase and will give it another full week before I make my choice. Thanks.

You got a point there, but I don't see 6s Plus losing that much in the next week or so.. Summer will be ideal to get rid of it, that's for sure (but once you know for sure). And even if you're not sure, you might sell it anyway, and then get it back (if need be) cheap once 7 / 7 Plus or Pro drops (or just get a new one).

I'll be hunting for those "cheaper" 6s Pluses for sure, just to try newer beta 10's ;)

One more thing I miss on Nexus 6 is "smooth browsing". Safari was very smooth for me on the iPhone, while chrome on Nexus 6 barely keeps up (forget heavey sites).

I just got my 6P a few weeks ago and absolutely love the device, came from a G4 and S6 before that. If you can wait, I'd suggest to wait...I needed a phone and have zero regrets. I left the Nexus 5 for the s6 then g4, don't think I'll leave Nexus ever again.

I loose my GPS signal everyday. I have to restart my phone to get it back. While i use gps every minute (i drive for job).
Now i see my youtube screen on background of every app i run !!!
Only thing stopping me to give this phone is camera and removable battery.

When I was using the G3 with Android auto, it would drop GPS every 10 mins and my route would be lost. With the G4, again on AA the google map wouldn't stay updated...not sure what's with LG and their gps/google maps.

not sure why are they so huge on Nexus 6P but that's a rant for another day

Design, basically. They wanted dual front facing speakers but also wanted to keep the phone thin (7.3mm)

Look at it compared to the Moto X Pure Edition, which is a 5.7" phone with dual front facing speakers... the closest phone in that respect that I could find. The Moto has a 75% screen to body ratio (6P is 71.6%), but it is also more than 50% thicker than the 6P at its thickest point... and this is with a battery that's 450mah smaller than the 6P.

So Google had to stuff a bunch of high tech gizmos in a really tight package... their options were to either make the phone thicker, or make the bezels larger. They choose the latter.

Yes but that decision..

I don't know anyone asking for a thinner phone, while I know tons of people wanting a bigger battery.

You gave a nice example with Moto X PE, but I'm sure it can be done better.

Well, this is a thin phone, but also one packing a 3450 mah lump, so it's not like they sacrificed that all that much.

To be honest, their size doesn't bother me all that much. I had a Nexus 6, and there was plenty of criticism levied on the thickness of the phone. And that was partially caused by the 6's high screen to body ratio. Damned if you do...

Rite.. ;)

I would love to see:

-5.5-6" screen & tiny bezels & front speakers
-4500+mah (f**k thickness) with fast charging (and also fast wireless charging)
-super bright screen (outside)
-ultra fast / smooth / consistant UX
-camera that puts s7 edge to shame
-sexy body

I don't mind paying iPhone money for it.

Congrats!

I just got my Nexus 6p a week ago (20-Jun-16) and I love it.

My old phone was a G4 as well. I also switched to Project Fi when I got my phone so it's a complete change for me.
