jt vanilla gingerbread

Running v3 of this ROM and everything is working great...Using HL glitch kernel, EC09 radio. No complaints. (knock on wood)... Quite a few themes starting to come to this ROM too. Great work JT!

stock gingerbread (vanilla)

Hey guys I am just in love with stock gingerbread with jt Tom its so fast and smooth and I would never want anything more just wondering who else is loving it

Re: stock gingerbread (vanilla)

I'm pretty sure you could have found people who love jt's vanilla gingerbread right here in this already existing thread:

http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...roms-hacks/108179-jt-vanilla-gingerbread.html

No need to start a whole new thread to ask this question. You could have asked it in that thread and kept all the discussion about the ROM all in one place so everyone else like you who want to discuss and learn things about the ROM can go to one thread instead of having to search about 21 threads. BTW, it's only three threads below yours in the forum list.

Kevin/Ragnarokx, can we merge this thread into the other one?

I'm having some major issues with vanilla gb.

1. No wi-fi (just says error)
2. cannot install gapps
3. tried to odin back to froyo but all i get is a message in odin saying
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)

Someone help please....

Re: stock gingerbread (vanilla)

Sorry I was feeling that was more of a support thread and questions I was looking more apprieviation thread with this but feel free to move it sorry!

When going back to froyo you also have to use the PIT section in Odin and use the file included in one of the posts. I'm on phone so cant track it down but I think its stickied. Its titled going from cm7/miui back to stock or other rom. I used it and worked perfectly to do a clean install of ed05

Edit: directions are over on xda here you go

i was enjoying this rom until it fried my 16 gb sd card. found an old 2 gb card and will restore to cm7

No problems with losing 3G but the wi-fi comes and goes. And that's pretty much the only issue I have. I never did have a low in-call volume problem but the ringer turns itself down below where I set it on a regular basis.

Baseband version DL09
Kernel 2.6.35.7-g419ee7f / jt1134@ubuntu #1
Vanilla Gingerbread-0804-21:41
Build #GRJ90

Is anyone else experiencing random radio failures. I'll look at my status bar every few hours and then all of a sudden the 3g symbol is gone. Going into settings and turning off data and turning it back on works fixes it but it's find of a pain. Other than that this ROM is great! Quick, sleek, and fewer lags and force closes than CM7.

(If you have or haven't had this issue and are having the best ever or bad radio issue let me know what kernel and radio you are running)

No problem. It just keeps the forums cleaner to keep discussion about the same topic/ROM/kernel/problem, etc. in the same thread. That way everyone, especially those new to the forums can find things easier instead of threads being pushed back to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th page or more because there are 3 or 4 threads covering the same topic. Seems like one of the big problems those who are new to the forums have is learning how to navigate through the forums and find answers. Keeping all the info about one topic contained in one thread can be one way to help with that.

Is this rom like cm7 where it runs gingerbread differently where it does not break sd cards or will this have chance of breaking sd card?

Unfortunately I have seen a few reports of sd cards getting borked with this ROM as well. I just saw jt1134 post a new kernel in irc earlier. He also did post something over at rootzwiki about the sd card problem. So hopefully he has found a fix. Has something to do with the GB bootloaders. In the meantime there is an sd card formatter tool that seems to be helping people:

The bootloader file is from Gingerbread EC09 so it's good with CM7 or JT Vanilla. You can load it before or after an installation is my understanding.
