Juice defender vs. Smart actions

Is something like juice defender needed with smart actions? I was just wondering if the juice defender would do more than the smart actions. Thanks for any input.

I have used both the Smart Actions and the Juice Defender app and I like Juice Defender. My battery seemed to last longer using the app vice the Smart Actions on the phone. The amount of control that you can have is the one thing in the favor of Smart Actions.

I prefer Smart Actions. The granularity it provides is great. I found better battery life with it too.

I just use Smart Actions since it's already baked into the phone. It's a great feature.

I use Juice Defender Ultimate an i love it. My battery depending on usage get a full day to day and a half. Highly recommend. Just spend the time and read everything and set it up according to you.

Jd is nasty on restoring phones connection. What little you see saved is wasted by the phone trying to restore your cellular connection

I went from having to charge my battery almost as soon as got home from work to having 40-50% when I get home. Yes the waiting for the signal to click in can get annoying but small price to pay for extra battery life. IMO!

I used Smart Actions before Juice Defender and I must say that Juice Defender is pretty amazing. With Smart Actions I got a solid day, with Juice Defender I get basically two days.

There's more options and customizability with Juice Defender, which I like. However, as another person has mentioned, the time to reestablish connection can be a bit annoying.

I do recommend it though. Keeps your battery conserved when you need it later.

Those of you that are using juice defender, do you customize it of do you use the basic settings?

I customize mine. The "basic" just didn't doit for me. Spend the time an tweak it to your liking. Read all options carefully and set up accordingly.

I prefer llama myself. Its free and gives a lot more control than smart actions.

I would definitely say that if you're going to use Juice Defender, then it would be worth it to buy the Plus or Ultimate version. In my opinion, Smart Actions isn't specific enough when trying to choose which battery saving options you want.
