I have the original Jump plan and am eligible for an upgrade. Should I upgrade and keep this plan? Or should I move to the new Jump on Demand plan?

That all depends. If you like switching phones often, and don't mind always paying a monthly fee, then JOD is the way to go. 0 down and 0 out of pocket for most phones and you can basically upgrade every 4 months. If you are on the traditional jump then you must fully pay off your device to switch over. The regular jump plan lets up upgrade when you have paid off 50% of your balance. In order to move to JoD that balance has to be paid off.

I love JoD. I've gotten a new phone every 4 months. Just got the GS7 Edge, and by the time the note6 comes out I'll be ready to jump again :)

I didn't realize my phone must be fully paid off to move to JOD. Since I'm only 50 percent paid I guess I have to stick with Jump if I want an upgrade now. I have the S6 and want to get the S7, tired of the poor battery life.

Inaccurate. I have the original jump program I can jump any time I want as long as I have enough credit on my account. At the begging of the plan they gave me a certain amount of credit. Every phone uses some of that credit as u pay off the phone u get credit back. I can jump as often as I want. And if ur account is in good standing they can extend u more credit if u need it.

Jod can not be added to the s7 for new customers. They are phasing it out.

From what I've been reading, it's being phased out in stores, but is still available--for now--through telesales.

Apparently store reps actually lose money for every new JoD activation they do. So this results in some of them lying that JoD has been discontinued (while it's right there on their website) while management and/or telesales, in typical Uncarrier fashion deny that stores would/should be doing this.

JOD was the only reason I'd consider going back to t-mobile. I guess it was a good idea to get customers, now reality has set in. Verizon already dropped the whole upgrade early scheme.

I was told in a T-Mobile store this weekend that JoD is no longer available. Since it's still on the web site, I called T-Mo. I just got off the phone with them and they say that it's been discontinued since early April. Why it's still on the web site is a mystery.

It is available because T-Mobile offers smartphone equality which means customers who are on prepaid and want to move to post paid can do so with no money down! When these prepaid customers pay for their services for 12 months with out interruption T-Mobile let's these individuals go to a post paid account without running credit.. They are automatically put on JOD for the $0 down offer..

I know this because I work there.. 👌

Try calling TMO Telesales at 1-800-866-2453. And please post what happened in this thread.

I got the opposite two different times with our local store. When my wife bought her Note 5, they pushed it on us and told us that we would have to cancel it on our account. Same thing happen when I got my V10 a month or so later.

What the stores won't do that the telesales says they should is return phones bought on telesales/online. My local store will not do it unless you bought it from them.

I worked at Tmo for almost 3 years, until this past January. Stores cannot return phones bought online or through telesales. The systems don't let it happen. As a rep it was so frustrating whenever a rep over the phone claimed we could.

Were you corporate or franchise? I've noticed that a bunch of the T-Mobile (and Sprint for that matter) stores around me are actually franchised stores. Would a corporate store allow you to take them back? Just curious.

I worked at two different corporate stores. I would never work at a franchise nor would I shop at one either. No store can return it.

While customer care is the only place you can do a jod apparently these days they do still allow you to return your phone to the store. I just did it for my wife's phone in April of this year.
