Just activated - how do i stop from auto-downloading old apps?

Title pretty much explains it. I just activated my new s4 and it is downloading all my apps from my old phone/google account. I can't seem to find a way to stop it and I don't want all the junk apps that I never use. I am sure it is easy, but turned off my phone until I can figure it out. Thanks in advace.

clean them up and get them like you want them go to backup restore in settings and turn them both off. restart your phone and go right back in there and re check them both. do this on wifi and it will put the new list in backup

Did you turn off auto updates in your play store settings? Also, when I updated the OS OTA, it went back to auto update.
