Just bought Huawei Mate 20 Pro and keep having trouble paying with NFC

Was this phone new or secondhand? Did you set it up as a new phone or did it come already set up? If it wasn't set up new it may be worth factory resetting the phone to make sure there are no bugs. Do you make sure NFC is turned on before you pay? What actually happens when you try to pay? Are you using Google Pay app?
