Just bought my Optimus V. Have some questions please.

I'm coming to the world of optimus v and VM from a Droid X. I'd really like to root this phone so I can restore all my stuff using titanium backup. Only problem is, I don't have a PC. All the posts I've read require one. Is there a way to root my phone using only my phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'd love to have a widget to keep up with my minutes used. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Try minute checker app, or just type in virgin mobile in the search field of the Market place and it'll bring it right up, its a red circle, enter phone number and your virgin mobile password and wa la! all the info. you need....as far as the option to root without a PC, i'm not sure, i've never had to go that route, but maybe someone with more experience can help, and welcome good to have ya!

Download Gingerbreak from the market, it will allow you to root your Optimus V with no computer needed.

Minutechecker works well, but I was kinda wanting a widget if possible. The links that zoldberg_md posted all look like they require a PC, which I do not have. I couldn't find gingerbreak on market so I went and searched the net. Found, dled, and when I I stalled and opened, it just stayed on the "rooting, running exploit" screen and wouldn't go any further. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
