Anyone know what the LED (i think that's what it is) above the small end of the Verizon check is for? I just noticed the transparency right there and originally thought my screen was jacked up.

It's the proximity sensor. Shuts the screen off when your face is close to it.

There is also a light sensor next to the proximity sensor.
