Just found I have a multi touch issue as well

Try 4 or 5 fingers (I'm serious)

Well I just tried. Hard to see with all those fingers but I can confirm in google maps it doesn't jump or go crazy. Doing it on homescreen, seem fine too, just a bit moving, not sure if its lag or too much stuff on screen. I would say both are good unlike in that youtube video or using that 3rd party app above.

I wouldn't worry about your multi-touch issues unless you see then in real apps.

You double-checked the tablet is laying on a table (ie you aren't holding and it isn't plugged in)

It is strange that you would see multi-touch issues in yamtt but not in any app. Everytime I've seen it, they go hand in hand.

Now if you told me you've never had multi-touch issues that would make more sense than having it in one but not the other.

I've read that only the tablets with the JSS15J build number have the problem. I'm sure nexus will solve the problem soon, doing an OTA update. If you return to exchange, see if the store will allow you to open it to check the build number. Good luck on that. I'm just sitting tight. They know of the problem and maybe do a massive exchange if nothing else?? Do you think so?

Yo just downloaded the multitouch tester app and no problema here, also I got that build number you mentioned.

Rule9 told me this app called " Yet Another MultiTouch Test" this is one one showing my device problem. There is one under developer option and I used another app before and both turned out fine. So not sure if that app is the problem causing this, you can try and post your result.

Thanks mikemike! I did DL the app last night and it does appear, when using two fingers, I have some issues with touch. However, when I use four, there are no issues at all. Strange...

I think the severity varies on different units. Of the 3 that I had all 3 of them showed differing levels of erratic 2 finger multi touch when tested. My newest one is the least of all and on a small level I might be prepared to accept as I mentioned earlier since I likely wouldn't have even noticed there was an issue on this particular unit if I hadn't known about it, but I've seen some people say theirs is bad enough that they can see problems during just regular use.

It's a 2 finger only issue from what everyone has been saying

It's clearly a HW issue exposed by SW. Otherwise it'd be the same on all devices.
It's pretty much proven to be a grounding issue. There are videos where people ground their hand to the USB port and this issue goes away.

I'd return your tablet and wait for an update from Google.... cause right now they aren't talking.

I returned mine after trying 4 different tablets from 3 different sources.

I;m also as puzzled as you so I tried more testing and bad news. There is a bit problem with my touch screen and the app confirms it. Same as jstwondrng, only when two fingers on the same line path the screen start to jiggles. I had to open an browser to see that effect, when I zoom close in, the more it jiggles. When I hold it too long or zoom in a lot, it will go crazy, crash app and also make my home screen jiggle. Had to reboot to make the problem go away. Wouldn't notice the problem if not reading about others having this problem, but my keyboard is unaffected. Still debating if I should wait for an fix (if software related) or exchange (if hardware related)....(fear receiving an worser one).

The ones that have it bad immediately start jiggling when you cross the lines.

IMO if you have to hold it there a while before it starts jiggling, it isn't worth returning unless you end up doing that sort of operation all the time.

For me, crossing the lines briefly happens often. Trying to keep the lines (my fingers) on a vertical line for multiple seconds just isn't something I do normally.

Yeah it doesn't affect me that much. Thats why I'm still thinking should I just leave it alone in hope there can be an future fix somewhere. All the app I use don't require me to use the two fnger position in the same line so not much problem with app usage. The problem only start to annoy when you provoke it if you know what I mean, otherwise not much an issue for now. Since there so many different defects (sound, battery, screen, touch, boot), the chance of exchanging for another defect is huge at the moment. I suppose its better to keep my current one unless I'm sure I'd got one that isn't defect in the first place. Right now I'm talking to an Asus guy, hope he can help me out more in this situation.

Hello dear friend
Along with best wishes.

I don't the multi touch issue. I am second one tablet because the first tablets finish on the back was defective. It was rubbing off. One of the corners was not rounded. It had a flat spot with no curve at all.

Yeah, I am currently addicted to Paper Monsters and The Price is Right Slots and both games are having "touch" issues. I even have dead screen spots on The Price is Right game. Hope they fix it soon.

No issue using the app The Price is Right. However, additional usage with the device I now discovered the touch screen issue does affected how I typed with they keyboard and how I scrolled thru website. I was browsing on amazon today and scrolled around and I noticed sometime scrolling would activate the zoom in function (with just one finger -the thumb). This may explain why I'm having such an hard time using the nexus to reply on this forum. First I would have a hard time inserting the inserter to start my typing in the exact spot I wanted. Sometimes my typing would continue in the wrong place, so need to reinsert the pointer again. Next is that I always need to zoom out each time before or after I type so I can double check on what I wrote. It would stayed zoomed in a little so In always need to zoom back out. Just for the hassle with the replying I'm definitely want to have this issue sorted out. Unless the issue can be fixed with the next three weeks or I'd be forced to return it while I'm still allowed to.
