So although my 6p is new but out of warranty I was curious about the replacement should I ever need it. Well as of September 20th that was Google's cut off to replace the 6p with a pixel so if any of you had hopes of getting your 6p replaced that's no longer a valid option. Just FYI.

I just called Google back and made one more attempt for a replacement and I think I am going to get one. My case is under review and I will receive a call back within 24 hours. I've also requested that they send me the 5 inch model instead of the XL. I plan to buy a larger screen phone down the road and plus I think a 5 inch phone is the perfect size.

My 6p is brand new but it sat unopened at an individuals house for over two years so it's just outside the warranty date. I don't want to get down the road and experience all these battery issues on what I thought to be a brand new phone either. So I'm hope to get a replacement to give me a peace of mind. I'm just unsure of whether I should get the 5 inch or the 5.5 inch at the moment. The rep spoke like they will indeed replace it for me so I'd be shocked now if they don't. I also think I'll get a 128g bc my 6p is 64g. So I'm waiting on the call back now and need to decide on which size to get. I need that peace of mind that my phone is not going to all the sudden quit working with rapid battery drain and shut down at 45 percent.

I was upfront with them about my device so if they don't then hopefully I'll be fine but if they do then I'll have that peace of mind moving forward. I guess I'll know within 24 to 48 hours.

Is there something wrong with the 6P?

Either I'm having app issues running in the background or I have the battery drain issue. We are troubleshooting it now. Once they call me back I'll know and then they will make a decision whether to send me out a pixel or not. I love my 6p so I hope it's app related. This is my all time favorite Android phone and always have been. In fact if they do warranty it I'm going to try and get the 5 inch pixel and hold out for the XL2 pixel as my larger screen device. However if I'm going to have a larger screen then I would rather it indeed be large like the Nexus 6p at 5.7 or the Mate 9 at 5.9 inches so that's why I'll shoot for a 128g 5 inch pixel if it is concluded that a warranty is needed. I'm just waiting on their call back now so to answer your questions I'm unsure at the moment whether it's app related or battery drain related. I'll know soon though and post about what was done and the outcome.

Yes, please let us know about the income! Hope you can still get a Pixel!

I can for sure tell you that they are very strict on this issue. They have put me on hold again and I am trying to get them to cave.

They have now put me on hold again as my case has gotten escalated to the top level so I'm thinking it's 50/50 chance that I'll get a replacement now. It's going to depend on who is on the other side reviewing my case and what type of day they are having. I haven't directly spoken with the high level support person which I wish that I could. I feel like I could close the deal out just like any other sales transaction but now it's in the hands of rep speaking on my behalf to upper level support. It's been a tough one all the way through I will say as they are pretty strict on their new policy of no longer replacing 6ps with pixels. If I get one I'll be extremely lucky and in the right place at the right time.

Okay I'm still in the clear. My case is still under review and the rep told me that it's a good sign that it has gotten this far bc normally it's cut off from the very beginning and does not get pushed to the top level for any type of review but he also told me I'll be very lucky if they do indeed grant me an exception and send me a new phone. Right now I'm just waiting and will update you guys with what happens over the next day or so. Hopefully I'll get a pixel and that they will grant me an exception here. I've worked hard on this one that's for sure. Google is tough.

I'm going to miss my 6p if I do get a replacement. It's a good looking phone and my favorite all time Android device plus skins look awesome on it.

They ended up denying me the replacement but I'm totally fine with that as I love my Nexus 6p. Like I've always said it's my all time favorite Android device. I've had some apps running in the background that I've since fixed and my battery is already doing better. So I am certain I don't have the draining battery issue. Anyways my nexus 6p is here to stay especially for the deal I got on it. I should always be able to make Money on it only paying $150 like I did and it being new sealed in box. I couldn't be happier. I had a buddy call me today and showed me how to cut each app off running in the background and that immediately boosted my battery life instantly.

Thanks for keeping us updated on your situation! I definitely understand you wanting to hang on to your 6P; and I'm really glad that your battery life is improving!

Thank you very much. Yeah I was on the fence about letting my 6p go anyway and if they would have offered me a pixel the only reason I might had taken it would have been because I would have left it sealed and sold it to pick up the Huawei Mate 9 instead. I'm just not a fan of the pixel however I do like the size of their 5 inch model. I think 5 inches for a phone is the perfect size which is why I liked the Sony Xperia X so much. In fact I lost out on a steal on one that was brand new in box but only taken out to display it for $178 on Amazon right before I got this smoking deal on my Nexus 6p. I'm still kicking myself for waiting until the next morning to buy as someone bought it out from under me. I thought to myself it's late so I'll just grab it in the morning. No one is going to buy a sony Xperia X anyway. Well I was wrong and it was the pearl white color too which is exactly what I wanted. Had I gotten it I would not have bought the 6p do I guess it worked out for the good bc $150 for a brand new Nexus 6p is an insane deal I have to say but to me that Sony Xperia X being 5 inches was the perfect size phone. I've owned the black one before and always regretted selling it. I may end up bitting the bullet and buying one new at $299 though still yet. My current set up is a Axon 7 Mini with a 5.2 inch display and a Nexus 6p with a 5.7 display. Of course for me personally I like to keep one smaller screen phone and one larger screen phone. The larger screen is for all my media such as movies and YouTube. Plus the Nexus 6p has some of the best speakers you can get on any phone so media is great on it. I have to say the same for my axon 7 having the Dolby Atmos surround sound speakers which are amazing too. I just don't do as much media on it because I have my large Nexus 6p for that. Yeah but I'm bummed I missed out on such a good deal on that sony Xperia X though. That was a killer price for that phone. It runs a 650 processor which is plenty fast enough better than my 617 axon 7 mini is. Overall I love my Nexus 6p and am glad I didn't have to make that hard decision whether to let it go or not for a new pixel. That was going to be a hard one to make I think knowing it was most likely my apps draining my battery which in fact it was. So for now I'm happy with my current set up and if I could change one thing would be to get the Sony Xperia X instead of my axon 7 mini.

I too am stuck in no mans land in regards to numerous emails back and forth about getting my 6p which is still under the nexus protect warranty replaced due to a battery issue. What really makes no sense to me is that I personally know of a Project Fi user with the same issue on their Nexus 6p got their phone replaced with a new Pixel XL within 48 hours. No consistency on the support side.
