Just got a DEX station [emoji106]

I received a free Dex Oad with my S9+ and I finally got a chance to try it out. it's a cool gadget (I love my gadgets) but I can't see a real practical use for it that I couldn't accomplish with Screen Mirroring. Can someone give me some ideas on productive uses for this thing?

I actually found it extremely useful in the following scenario: I work for a bank where all social media, free email and streaming media websites are blocked, so I rely on my cell phone to communicate with the outside world. However, having to tap everything on my S9 screen was a pain in the ***. So, I got the Dex and also an UGreen USB switch, so now I can type away from my desktop keyboard and use the mouse on my cell phone as if it was another screen of my PC. I love it

This is my exact situation! And Im getting a dex just for this lol. I can't even use Google in my bank. Geez. Dumb banks

I have to be honest: I bought this with $99 to blow. I am amazed at what this DexPad does. My Note 8 is just so so as a trackpad, so I use a wireless mouse. I have a wired keyboard to a monitor. Many apps are not polished to work with Dex, but the main one's like Office 365 products work great.
One problem is that when varifying passwords with my LastPass, I can't use the fingerprint reader, so I have to resort to using PIN number. Not a big deal, but a front fingerprint reader on the Note 8 would make it sweet.
I'm looking forward to more programs optimized for Dex.

Place the phone face down to access the fingerprint sensor, everything still works the same!

Way back when I was tempted to buy the Samsung S2 multi-media dock to use with my Galaxy Note Pro. Ummed and aahhed until the damn thing disappeared from the market place.

Is it at all feasible that the Note Pro could be connected by a cable to the Dex, and would it work??

Nope, only works with either s8/+ or s9/+ and the dex is different for both of these phones too.

I don't think that is true. My wife got a free DeX Pad with her S9+ and it works great with my Note 8.

Sorry but Samsung say that the S9 is compatible with the original Dex.

Well it is different for the s8 and s9, the s8 dex will not work with the s9.

I use my S9+ with the original DeX with no issues.
