I just picked up a G4 and good God is the LG Skin ugly. I'm looking for a good lightweight rom but haven't had any luck. Can anyone recommend something and link me to what they're using? Thank you.

I would try just running another launcher to get see if that helps.

I use Nova on all my devices. I just want a light rom with more customization.

Yes. The problem is just cosmetic appeal. Lots of little LG skins tthat can't be changed.

I'd check XDA.
It's a little too early for root/roms so far. We'll hear it first over there.

Root has been accomplished for all versions of the phone but it's to risky for mainstream use. Top developers are working to package it where it's safe but that will take some time.

I'd use Nova Prime in the meantime or even Google Now Launcher if you don't mind losing home screen real estate. People on XDA are saying unlocking the bootloader will void the warranty. Not worth the risk IMO.

The only launcher I truly love is the Google Now Launcher. It's clean, and it's exactly what I like.

That being said, I have found myself using Yahoo's Aviate Launcher these days. It's actually really functional. I don't like TOO much customization, so some of the ones like Action Launcher or Nova Launcher are cool, but too much for my taste.

The Yahoo Aviate Launcher is really nice, though, I have really been enjoying it and like that it's clean but very useful

I have Nova Prime and only use it for a few features that craft the phone to my liking. I'm not into the total customization that others with NP are.
